I am probably hoping for the impossible but is their a way to rid myself of Bing, Ask, Edge and all the other browsers that seem to be part of windows 10 that are less about taking you to sites and more about bringing you to sites where you can buy things and of course the absolute lowest price is always guaranteed. With Windows 10 I feel like I am set upon by street urchins trying to sell me chiclets. As well these browsers all seem to be defaulted to American sites.

I am sure you can, I run the Chrome browser as default and Google is my default search engine. I never see or hear from any of those Microsoft things you mention.

For Edge.
Go to the Control Panel - Default Programs, and set you favorite browser as the default.

You don't state which browser you are using, but in all of them, there will be a setting where you can change your search engine.
For example, IE. Select tools - Manage Add-ons -Search Providers. It will probably say Bing. Look at the bottom of the page, and you will find an item "Search for more providers" There you can select Google and, at the same time, choose it as your default. To prevent a recurrence, when you are back in the add-ons window, delete Bing.

Call me old fashioned but I remember Yahoo from windows 95/98 and it still works for me. The last I knew chrome had something to do with cars.

Come on, Chrome is not the only browser with a strange name. Edge for example. Isn't that the place you come to just before going over the cliff?
