I have a new HP ALL IN ONE PC, df 24-df0170, windows 10 64. The Bose speakers are not being recognized by my pc, just the Realtek speakers. They were working on a older pc. I tried new speakers, they don't work either. HP & Bose are no help. HP refers me to a paid support.

Only Realtek speakers and headphone show up. I tried a new set of Logitech speakers too..They didn't show up or play either. They worked on a older Dell.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

do you have any yellow exclamation marks showing in Control Panel > Device Manager under your sound devices?. ;)

Nothing there either, I looked. Nothing shows up when I try external speakers. In devices, no speakers show up.

Hi Tom,

are there any switches on your AIO whereby you can switch between the speakers?. Do the onboard Bose speakers automatically switch off when you plug in the external speakers?. ;)

Try the following link and see if that helps?. :)

Thanks, I tried those steps, didn't work. External speakers just aren't recognized. I tried a new set of speakers, no audio. The pc speakers work fine.

I'm not aware of any switches. They worked fine with a older pc. I tried them on a new laptop, no audio from external speakers either. There's got to be a setting I'm overlooking. Both have Windows 10, 64 bit. Thsmks Tom

Thanks, I only have 1 cable from the subwoofer, it goes into the audio output from the pc. There's only 1 audio output. I haven't tried any other type of cables or output like USB or hdmi.

Thanks for your assistance. That didn't work, speakers don't have ethernet or wifi connection.
