boot missing no recovery media

Lenovo ideapad bought new 8/15/2016 windows 10. I was using it a couple days ago and when I tried to shut it down it took a long time so I manually pushed the power button. It usually goes off in twenty seconds. Next day I powered it up and, after a very long pause, it came on to a blue screen that said your computer needs to be repaired and boot missing and error 0xc0000034. I failed to make a recovery cd so I have no way to access the repair function. Am I screwed? Can anyone give me some idea how to get this laptop going again?

Welcome to the forums :).

Feat not, you can make your own recovery media by downloading it direct from the MS website:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

Just download that small app, and it'll allow you to burn a recovery CD/USB stick from another PC. You can use the repair tool on that to recover :). It looks like it may be a BCD error, which the automatic startup repair feature should be able to fix.
