I have a system which has the following entry in the BCD Store used for booting in the Windows Boot Manager section. I have never used Bitlocker, but the system seems to encrypt the drive if I do a clean install. This system has a vPro processor which may be involved.

I suppose I am wondering what effect this entry has on my boot? Does the system encrypt the drive and decrypt it during or after a boot? If it is missing or corrupted, what might happen...?

I have gotten messages, under certain circumstances, where I had to go to the link and get the Bitlocker key listed for this system.. I think this will happen after a clean install and the key listed will allow decryption of the drive.

Thanks.
