Avira umbrella closing

Hi there, in my windows 10 the free antivirus Avira 's umbrella is closed while the status says that my computer is protected. i did a few things the umbrella got opened for a while and closed again.i have tow questions:
1-am i protected? what does then that closed umbrella mean?
2- how to open the umbrella.
i tried a few ways from youtube , didn't work.
it will be very kind of you to tell me how to fix the challenge .

muku Welcome to the Forum.
I ran Avira for years and ran into the same problem. You most likely have a corrupt Avira file. If the umbrella is closed you don't have full protection. I guess you could look for corrupt files, but it's just as easy to Uninstall Avira and reinstall again. Just make sure you download from the official Avira web site and not third party offerings. Read the download instructions carefully, if I remember Avast will be installed too. Just make sure you uncheck any reference to Avast before you agree to download Avira.

Hi Muku,

another alternative is to completely remove Avira and just use the on-board Windows Defender AV app which will kick in automatically once you remove Avira!. I use it myself and don't have any problems with Windows own security app, it is free and in my opinion; works well as it is directly integrated into the system!.
