Avast. Paid for

I run Avast and alongside Spybot search and destroy, also paid.
If I download a large file and ask Avast to scan it, it does so in a moment. Spybot on the other hand goes through the file item by item and says whether it is clean or not.
So is avast actually doing anything ? Makes me wonder what I'm paying for.

Personally, I used Avast for many years and it works Great! However, since upgrading to Windows 10 I find I no longer need to purchase any Anti-Virus sw for my computer. I now use Microsoft Essentials for Windows 10. It works Great and is Free! You can click the links below to check it out if you choose. Avast, does run in the background and it will detect any virus's if they are invading your PC. I have never used Spybot. Reason is that I do not like to have it on my system. Seems it conflicts with other programs as well as the possibility of causing issues in Windows.

Again, I am not trying to say use Microsoft Essentials. This is my person experience and opinions.
