I purchased a used Dell PC . I shut down the PC each night just before bed. At 3:00am every morning from Monday thru Friday, the PC powers up. But does not power up at 3:00am on Saturday + Sunday. I would like a solution to disable this from powering up at 3:00am. I have tried all the usual suspects and nothing works. The PC was formerly owned by a school board. Any ideas?

Have you reset the PC to factory defaults &/or clean installed Windows?
I suspect a Windows task is running as I’m sure many are set to 3.00am. Open task scheduler & see if anything is listed as starting at that time - culprit may be Windows update. Although I would expect this to run at the weekend too.

I suspect that you are not actually turning off the PC as you think, but rather placing it into some form of power saving state (standby, hibernate, sleep, hybrid sleep, etc.,)
Try this tonight at bed time

WinKey + R (produces the Run Dialog Box) into which you type
shutdown /p /f (shuts down the local machine and forces open apps to close)
hit enter or click OK

Let us know if the machine starts at 3:00 A.M.
