Yesterday, , my Display started occasionally to flash brighter, and then go back to the original settings. .After checking to see if it was the display or the computer, I found that it was the computer. I did some troubleshooting and finally decided it was the onboard video card going bad. I am not a gamer, so I purchased an inexpensive video card compatible with Windows 10, installed it, and, for a while, all was OK. Then it started changing the screen to various patterns that it should not have been there and froze the computer. To reboot, i had to unplug the machine. It continued with this problem several times, so I decided to remove it.
After removal, I booted and the machine blue screened with the message "Critical Process Died" and NO ERROR MESSAGE. Eventually, it went into Windows Repair after supposedly diagnosing the situation. I tried System Restore and picked a restore point a couple of days before. I got a message "You must enable protection of this drive." From the work I did the next hour or so, I determined that to do this, I had to boot into Windows, but I could not, always getting the blue screen.
i tried to Reset the machine. Error Message: "There was a problem resetting your PC". I tried to Uninstall Quality updates. "We ran into a problem and won't be able to unistall the latest quality update of windows."
I tried to uninstall the Latest feature update. Error Message: " We ran into a problem"
Startup repair ... Error Message: "Startup repair couldn't repair your PCI tried Startup Settings. No matter which number I chose brought up the Blue Screen "Critical Process Died".
HELP!
