Apps for Yahoo updates for ATT email

I only view email (Outlook 12) on laptop, Windows 10, ATT /Yahoo. Notified of need to update security via APPs. (I don't have a cell phone or other devices) So I'm not sure what this means. Are APPs only on other devices? (I'm 78 and still learning)

of course if you use the browser to get you mail this way you have to verify your account then signin
