Amazon announced today that it will raise the minimum wage for all U.S. employees to $15.00 per hour ( full time, part time, seasonal).

Shareholders, shareholder, shareholders. It's all about the bottom line. Just glad that the criticism and ridicule he was taking finally had some effect.
Better late than never I suppose.
Should make this upcoming Holiday Season a little more cheerful for some.

I think he only did it because he would have had to pay the money to the US government anyway as a fine so to speak, he decided to raise the wages so it makes him look good, all he is doing is paying the same amount of money in wages instead of fines!.

$15.00/hr ? I get that for years cut down from $17.00 few years back due to low business. And the State still thinks I get too much money as they cut down on deductibles every year.... I am simply working for taxes......

The Wife and I retired from jobs at the State Department and although we didn't make maximum dollars we had excellent benefits and retirement.

The secret is to invest as much money as you can afford in retirement and good safe stocks.

Between both of our State Department retirements and the stock investments we made throughout the years and then social security we are sitting very well without any worries.

Yes it did suck investing our money and cutting corners here and there where needed although it sure was a smart thing to do.

Life is good.
