SOLVED After update, can't see updates

An update was installed recently. after it installed I find that when I go into HP support assistant and click on windows updates a screen comes up with two check boxes (this is as always) the check boxes are "show updates" and "show settings". Clicking on these boxes no longer does what they should . does not bring up a list of updates or show the settings. Instead they both take me to the update and security screen.

Sounds like it is working correctly to me.
That's the new interface where you would (if you could) adjust update settings as well as "view update history"
Windows updates is no longer in Control Panel.
