Accessing User Account

On starting my laptop, my account picture, name and email are displayed as normal. However, when I enter my password (WHICH IS CORRECT - I HAVEN'T CHANGED IT!), the screen tells me 'Incorrect Password'. How can I access my account?

I don't pretend to be knowledgeable on this but a common question by those who are is upper or lower case letters? Is num lock on? Caps lock?

Definitely, the correct password has been entered.
