Hi folks,

I downloaded 7-zip and am trying to compress a sound file and my system saves the file to PDF Adobe format. This means that I cannot open the file.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 7-zip but it isn't helping.

Any advice??

Thanks in advance.

First of all, most "sound files", like.....
mp3 files are already strongly compressed and any effort to compress them further will not likely result in much savings in overall size of file.
Have you tried simply right clicking the file and choosing "Send to" compressed zipped folder?
Does that work for you?

They probably are in Adobe format like the other user said the .zip file extension is probably associated with Adobe. Assoication tells files with extensions what app to run when you click them. It's like when you click on photo.jpg and jpg 's are associated with photoshop then photoshop will open displaying photo.jpg
