I use Windows 10 and prefer the standard Word program. Recently, all my documents started opening in Microsoft 365, and I can't get back to the normal Word. I've tried turning off cloud saves, deleting Office 365, and following online instructions, but nothing works. How can I get my documents to open in regular Word 10 instead of Microsoft 365?

First, there is no "standard Word Program" as it didn't automatically come with Windows but was included as a trial by OEMs on new machines [WordPad is a "lite" version of Word and included]. Word 97, Word 2000, 2002/XP, 2003 used the file extension of .doc but Word 2007 and later use a newer format with the extension of .docx. Word 2010 was the first to offer either 32-bit or 64-bit. Word 10 was even older than Word 97. Word 2007 and later can use the older .doc files but Word 2000 through Word 2003 require a Compatibility Pack to enable use of the .docx from Word 2007 and later. I just opened a file from years ago saved as Word 2010 .docx and it opened correctly in Microsoft 365. I later opened a .docx file created in Microsoft 365 and it works fine in Word 2013 on a different computer.

Reflecting on my reply I see I made a mistake. The Word 10 app is actually part of Office 2002/XP. This is what shows in Help, About:
