In my network, some PCs were relocated, reformatted with new names and fixed IPs (no DHCP). However, their old IPs still appear in scans, causing conflicts with new machines. Despite attempts to clear caches, reinstall network cards, and clean registries, the issue persists. These PCs (ACER) continue to falsely appear with their old IPs, even when powered off, disappearing only when physically disconnected from the network. Ping tests within Advanced IP Scanner fail. Seeking solutions to resolve this persistent issue.

It sounds like there may be some stale ARP cache entries causing the issue. Try clearing the ARP cache on your router or switch using the command arp -d in the Command Prompt. This should help remove any outdated IP mappings and resolve the conflicts.

Hello fulfilledunsuitable, you should check if there are any static IP reservations on your network router or switch. Make sure that the IP addresses of the relocated PCs are not reserved in your network’s settings, which could cause these conflicts.

If clearing caches and reinstalling network cards didn’t work, you might want to perform a network reset on your router. This can refresh the network settings and remove any lingering IP conflicts. Also, ensure that all network devices have unique IP addresses and there are no overlaps.
